Social media image sizes 2026: resize one image for every platform

Drop in one image and get a crop for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Google Business Profile and link previews. Move the focal point, check the safe zones, download them all.

Nothing is uploaded. Your image stays in this browser tab.

Drop an image here, paste one with Ctrl+V / Cmd+V, or

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF. Bigger is better: 3000 px wide covers every size here.

How to use it

  1. Drop, paste or pick an image. Use the biggest version you have.
  2. Click the part of the image that matters (a face, a product, a logo). Every crop centres on that spot.
  3. Drag inside any preview to move just that crop, or zoom it with its slider. Click a preview and use arrow keys and +/- if you prefer the keyboard.
  4. Red shading shows where the platform puts its own buttons or photos. Keep text out of it.
  5. Pick JPG, PNG or WebP, tick the sizes you need and hit Download as ZIP. Files are named like instagram-post-1080x1080.jpg.

Instagram post size 2026

Use 1080 x 1350 (4:5) for feed posts. It fills the most screen. In 2025 Instagram switched the profile grid to 3:4 tiles, so a 4:5 post loses about 34 px on each side in the grid only. Stories and reels are 1080 x 1920. On stories, leave roughly 250 px clear at the top and bottom for the profile name and reply bar.

YouTube thumbnail size

YouTube's help page now recommends 3840 x 2160 px (4K) for thumbnails, 16:9, JPG or PNG. Most people still use 1280 x 720, which is fine and keeps the file small enough for the 2 MB limit when you upload from your phone. The tool exports both. The video length sits in the bottom right corner, so don't put your key words there.

For the channel banner, upload 2560 x 1440 and keep everything important inside the centred 1546 x 423 area (YouTube describes it as 1235 x 338 on its 2048 x 1152 minimum, which is the same area scaled). TVs show the whole thing, phones show only that strip.

LinkedIn banner size

Personal profile: 1584 x 396 px. Your round profile photo sits over the lower left, so shift text to the right half. Company pages: LinkedIn's help page now lists 1512 x 256 px for the cover image, which replaced the older 1128 x 191 you'll see in a lot of guides.

FAQ

What size should an Instagram post be in 2026?

1080 x 1350 px (4:5 portrait) takes up the most room in the feed. Square 1080 x 1080 still works. Since 2025 your profile grid shows posts as 3:4 tiles, so a 4:5 post loses a thin strip on each side in the grid only.

What is the YouTube thumbnail size?

YouTube now recommends 3840 x 2160 px (4K, 16:9), with a minimum width of 640 px. The classic 1280 x 720 still works and stays under the 2 MB limit for uploads from a phone; desktop uploads can be up to 50 MB. Keep text away from the bottom right corner, where YouTube puts the video length.

What size is a LinkedIn banner?

A personal profile background is 1584 x 396 px. A company page cover is 1512 x 256 px according to LinkedIn's help page; older guides still say 1128 x 191. On a personal banner your profile photo covers the lower left.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. All cropping and exporting happens in your browser with the canvas API. The image never leaves your device and there is no server to send it to.

What does the red shading mean?

Darker red is where the app puts its own buttons, names or photos over your image. Lighter red is cropped on some screens. Keep faces, logos and text out of both.

Should I use JPG, PNG or WebP?

JPG at 85 to 92 quality is the safe default for photos and is accepted everywhere. PNG is best for graphics with flat colour or small text. WebP is smaller but some platforms convert or reject it, so check before you rely on it.

Why does my image look blurry after I post it?

Platforms recompress everything. Start from a large original, export at the exact size listed, stay under the platform's file limit, and avoid tiny text. If your original is smaller than a preset, the tool warns you because it has to upscale.

What size is an Open Graph or link preview image?

1200 x 630 px (about 1.91:1). Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord and most chat apps use it when someone shares your link.
